Thank you, Mr. Dekker

holy experience

"To awaken each morning with a smile brightening my face; to greet the day with reverence for the opportunities it contains; to approach my work with a clean mind; to hold ever before me, even in the doing of little things, the Ultimate Purpose toward which I am working; to meet men and women with laughter on my lips and love in my heart; to be gentle, kind, and courteous through all the hours; to approach the night with weariness that ever woos sleep and the joy that comes from work well done - this is how I desire to waste wisely my days." Thomas Dekker

  1. I so can't believe they have a pet squirrel! I WANT A PET SQUIRREL! I WANT IT NOW!!!
I have other thoughts, but they are being over taken by the squirrel at the moment. Maybe I'll come back...

  2. A squirrel that comes by name. Maybe that's where I'm going wrong. I need to give our squirrels names. At the moment, I say "Hello squirrel" and they dash for the trees, closely followed by a grey steak of our dog. I'll try giving them names. It might work.

  5. Apparently, domesticating a squirrel...well sort of domesticating--they don't let him in the house--is quite easy. You only need a daily supply of peanuts to win their hearts.

  7. My parents use to have a squirrel that did the same thing and then one day it got into the house and they had to shoo it out lol. You had commented on my blog about my son dressed up like the Mad hatter he inherited that from me I went through a stage where I would dress up all the time to the point that my mom would come home from work and roll her eyes (in a funny o brother kind of way) Cheers to fellow geeks. (The Mad Hatter picture was at Halloween now he has to have an excuse to dress up ;-)

  9. Rachel, and my daughter inherited hers from me. However, I did not outgrow that stage--I just found a way to get paid for it, heh heh. I work as an 18th century living historian. :)

  11. Jodi,
    Beautiful list!
When I was young-ish, I had a sort of pet Squirrel. It would sit on my lap and eat sunflower seeds out of my hands. It didn't come in my house because my Mom would have had a cow.
It looks like your Wood Elf has some mad skills. Great form! ;)

  12. We used to have a magpie that my Dad tamed. He was very 'messy' (!!) in the house, but had lots of character. Mostly he was in the garden.
