  1. yes! I love GK! And now I love raw wool. I think I got to play with some in fourth grade. We had to brush it back and forth to get the seeds out...oh wait, that was cotton.
In any case, the raw wool looks like 1000 ways of fun. It also seems to me that you have perfected the art of living a quiet, unhurried life.
Happy anniversary! That picture of you two is absolutely adorable.

  2. I love you, JoAnn. I spit my glass of red anniversary wine on to the computer screen and choked with laughter as I read the "quiet, unhurried life" part. It's a goal, but not yet a reality. I think it's why I like still life photos so much. If you could only have seen my week--good heavens. But in it all, God is good, all the time. Thanks for your well-wishes, girlfriend. xo

  3. Well, I'm sorry you have a winey computer. BAH!

Seriously? If you don't have a quiet unhurried life, how are you finding time to mess with raw wool? I can barely do my laundry with half cotton half polyester.

  4. JoAnn, because you only have to spin it, not sort it, load it, wash it, dry it, fold it, and put it away. BTW, you should see my laundry pile. Years ago, my son gave me a mug that said "You're not messy - you're creative".
    Yeah. That about says it.

  5. oh I neeeeeeed that mug. It's truth.

And yes, I'm blogstalking you. D-Rock is outta town on business and I have trouble putting myself to bed. Night owl ya know.

I try to be neat, but only because other people want me to be. I'm personally fine with mess as long as I can find time to be creative. Sigh. So mostly I'm not being creative because it seems to be one or the other and a bakers half dozen.

  6. I hate cleaning. But I also hate a mess. It leaves one very conflicted. I think it's easier for me to find time to be creative because my children are all grown boo-hoo HAHA just kidding! BTW, I sent you an email.

  7. Is he also the butter to your bread? Boy, you two were up late last night. Love the mug. Happy Monday!

  8. You and JoAnn are pretty funny at 1 AM : )

Happy Anniversary! I agree about still life photos. They capture the essence of things in our lives that are present, but overlooked due to circumstances. The light, the color, the softness of wool, the long-married couple lifting their coffee cups at exactly the same angle, at exactly the same time, identical expressions on their faces. Goodness, frozen in time...

  13. The quote is fantastic...I had only heard the first half of it before. I may borrow it to put on my blog one day. It's a good thing to remember every day! The drop spindle looks rather tricky! But a fun sort of challenge....

Lovely words, coupled with a beautiful couple.

Many blessings and riches of the heart you share.

  21. 1. Happy Anniversary!

    2. I love the apple photo. Just looking at it makes me feel like it's a crisp fall day, even when it's really 80 degrees outside...

    3. Yes! You sure did call it. The passengers on the flight WEREN'T dead... when they start flash-backing in the next episode, then we'll REALLY know it's the new Lost. (Only, without the good soundtrack.)

  22. After 29 years of marriage you have achieved the perfect synchronized coffee drinking. That is a proper cup for drinking coffee. Hang on. Is there no handle? Oh well, nearly perfect. Lovely photos and quote. I so want to learn to spin. One day.

  23. Cheryl, coffee in a bowl is Perfect! It's the French way. And my husband's a Frenchie - that's how we roll. The synchronized coffee drinking--if only it were an Olympic sport :)
