Nan-girl's here!

Finally! I've gotten to meet a virtual bloggety-friend, in the flesh. We are no longer imaginary friends. Nancy is a writer with a rich family heritage. She's sensitive and funny, an encourager, a woman of faith, and she can rock a foil hat. You should visit her here. We like to talk to each other in movie quotes. So today, she's Nan of Green Gables, and I'm pretending to be Diana Barry. What? No raspberry cordial in the pantry? SNAP!

Nancy, you made me laugh so much!

But your ignored the rule: "stripes at dinner"

People break down into two groups. We're group number one. Miracle girls.

Minor bit of trivia - Nan-girl has the same map hanging in her home. Apparently we both spent our honeymoons on Martha's Vineyard. And we both bought the same souvenir map. Freaky...

  1. Love it! I tried to stare very hard into the bowl to see what you made for dinner but couldn't figure it out. I love the foil hat picture. Finally, I do find it very freaky that you both have that print considering how rare a print it is.

  2. Joy, in the bowl - chicken cutlets with capers and tomatoes.

  5. I'm a free spirit, Acorn girl! I've always cast aside the stripes at dinner rule. Seriously, if I told everyone on the internet how fantabulous staying at your house is, they would all want to come here. Truly, a house of peace and rest. Love you. And your long black tresses.

  6. oh. my. gosh. you guys are so amazingly cute sitting side by side. i am grinning ear to ear and probably look ridiculously dorky. the hats are perfect, the aliens will not read your minds, which is good because there is way too much awesomeness and wisdom in there we cannot let them get, and um, well, there's just one thing missing in those pictures. pretty sure you can guess... a joann and an amy. but whatever, i'm not complaining. just absolutely thrilled for you. is it strange that i feel proud? okay, enough said. next time you are both flying to california. so there.

  7. well this made me tear up. It's like Anne of Green Gables and the Girl of Limberlost got together and found that they liked each other very much. Of course I bought the book.

Couldn't you have photoshopped Amy and I in there? I already have the foil hat...:)
    Someday.

Funny enough, we have a striped shirts at dinner rule at our house.
Okay, not really. But coffee almost shot out of my nose at that line, sooooo funny.

    Hugs to both of you.
Also, if you come to CA, it is NOT snowing. It's like, 80 degrees.

  8. p.s. Is that a picture of you laughing? Because it looks like you're sleeping while holding a tea cup. Just saying.

  9. Amy and JoAnn, I'm all for a California meeting. JoAnn, definitely laughing. No sleeping with Nancy around. And as for the four of us in foil hats, Nan-girl has a plan. Ask to her about it.

  10. I LOVE THIS! (and don't try to tell me there wasn't any raspberry cordial in those teacups. I think that foil hat photo speaks for itself ;)

    And speaking of tinfoil hats:

"And deep down, they feel that whatever's going to happen, there will be someone there to help them. And that fills them with hope. See what you have to ask yourself is what kind of person are you? Are you the kind that sees signs, that sees miracles? Or do you believe that people just get lucky? Or, look at the question this way: Is it possible that there are no coincidences? "

I need to watch that movie again. Here's to group number one.
