Making Joy

"I salute you! There is nothing I can give you which you have not, but there is much, that, while I cannot give, you can take. No heaven can come to us unless our hearts find rest in it today. Take Heaven. No peace lies in the future which is not hidden in this present instant. Take Peace. The gloom of the world is but a shadow; behind it, yet, within our reach, is joy. Take Joy.
And so, at this Christmas time, I greet you, with the prayer that for you, now and forever, the day breaks and the shadows flee away."

Fra Giovanni

Awhile back, while on one of my thrift shop excursions, I noticed a glittery little cardboard box. Being the curious soul that I am, I took a peek inside

A hidden treasure

Alas, no crib for a bed

Shall I play for Him? pa-rum-pa-pum-pum

Let ev'ry heart prepare him room

Make joy!

  10. Take peace. I think of you every time I see my little sign that reads, "Be at peace." I imagine you humming (or singing out loud) to yourself while you were making the manger. I believe you took joy in the making. Love you.

  18. The baby Jesus looks so much more at home in your manger. He was waiting.
I always think of Advent as our waiting for the baby Jesus to come, but I see from this example how much He waits for us.

    Beautiful work (play!)
