A heap of thanks

And a debt of love is owed to all you gracious folks who gave me words of encouragement and prayers for a speedy recovery. Your prayers were answered, and I am grateful.

Energy was slowly starting to surge, so that on New Year's eve morning I was able to muck out the hen house

I do love my chooks

Later that evening we indulged in some gentle bubbling, as the label says

and rocked in the New Year doing a jigsaw puzzle by the fire...can we par-tay, or what?

Behold, two random photos of my kitties in the yard

Cue Crosby, Stills and Nash: Our house is a very very very fine house, with two cats in the yard, life used to be so hard, now everything is easy 'cause of you - la, la, lalalala, la la la la......

Yes, YOU, dear friends. Thank you again for the prayers. Blessings on your house, and happy New Year.
Love, the ever-curious Acorn

  9. Wonderful news, you feeling better. So nice, you out tending to the chooks, indulging in some gentle bubbling, and piecing puzzle by the fireside.

The girlies here were giddy over the kitties there. Anjulina, has a black Kitty, Tipatipu (aka Tip ;o) that she's now taken-to-thinking-for-certain is somehow-surely akin to this one who makes a home at your "very, very, very fine house" (now, lean in towards me so I can whisper this in your ear in just wondering....would your house not be *finer* if you had *3* cats in the yard? Respond privately, *please* ;o)

  10. So very very glad you are feeling better and stronger. You look adorable mucking out your hen house. And I want to kiss your kitties... and I love that song. Oh, and I have that same star - did you know? Only mine is a hanging star. Did you put yours on that stand, or did it come that way? Does it hold a votive candle?

  12. It's a privilege to pray for you, friend. My mom and I always used to set up a jigsaw puzzle at some point during Christmas vacation. We'd stay up into the wee hours looking for just one more piece. Hardly seems like Christmas/New Year's without one. Party on, Dude.

  14. Jewels, I'm whispering back. Is this an offer? We did have 3 kitties. Pangurband died in the summer. I have to say, Nuit (in black) and Wink (in stripes) did not mourn the loss. Nuit and Wink are brothers. They always viewed Pangur as an outlander.

  15. Les, yup, the star holds a votive candle. It was always on a stand. I love the color. My friend gave it to me as a Christmas gift two years ago.

  22. Thanks for the answer about the star... but I was sorry to read about Pangurband... I have a fond feeling for him because Joy said he reminded her of one of the characters on Downton Abbey. I'm sorry he was an outlander. Perhaps he didn't mind?

Oh, and I sent you an e-mail... feeling a bit better today, thanks be to God.

  23. Thanks Les, xx Pangurban, no d- typo mine. I don't think he minded. Pangur was a bit of a bully.

  24. Glad you are feeling better. Hope your energy levels continue to rise. I miss doing a Christmas time puzzle. We used to do one big one each year. I think the family is old enough now to not run off with pieces, so maybe, just maybe its time to bring back the tradition. Happy New Year!

  25. Cheryl, it seems that a couple of people have shared that they do jigsaws at Christmastime. That's pretty cool, I think. A nice cozy winter pasttime. Happy New Year to you, my crafty friend.

  26. I'm so glad you're feeling better. (And your cats look very, very sweet and well-behaved... it's as if they're trying to tell us that they never eat wool or walk across new paintings... )
