Still jet lagging

Slow, quiet activities - just what the doctor ordered. They're helping me ease back into Eastern Standard Time. Our Aotearoa visit was wonderful, but man oh man, my body clock has taken forever to get back in sync, and I have felt all over the place. Anyway, this is what I've been up to:


Restoring this old cool thing, which I'll be talking about more at a later date.


Watching bread rise


Baking bread is very therapeutic. This particular loaf took 18 hours to rise. Let me tell you it is SO worth it. You can find the recipe here.


Best of all, lots of this...good for what ails ya :)

  5. I noticed the paint tubes! Not many people would combine the two. Your bread looks so good. I think I'd be happy to wait as long as it takes too. Intrigued by your doing-up project. Look forward to seeing the end product. Hope your body catches up soon.

  15. What an amazing bread recipe...Maybe I'll try this someday, though I try not to eat too much bread. But when I have lived in Europe, it is so so good! I try not to eat too many carbs because they really are not good for my metabolism. I can feel it right away.

    The bread looks incredible. I have to admit that because I try mostly gluten free I haven't made bread (other than pizza dough ) in so long..
    I make meat of every sort and am mostly vegetarian so that counts too, no ?
    sigh..
    you always inspire.

  20. Jodi - Oh goodness yes, I am definitely going to take the leap, and start a blog. I am busy preparing for my youngest,twins,to graduate in 2 months, and trying to make all the plans for that big day! Having been home and raising 5 kiddos for the last 30 years, I will have a wee bit more time to invest in becoming technological and mastering a blog. I am excited!

  23. I hope you feel better too. That's a long trip to recover from. But baking bread and working on projects - what is that, a gorgeous antique chalkboard? I LOVE IT - sounds like a god way to rest :)

  24. I'm with you "Baking bread is very therapeutic". I love to kneed the bread, I've tried a bread machine and I just was sad, it's not the same at all. I can work out all kinds of things just making bread :)
