Dry Bones

"Alas, poor Yorick" is headed to an art show today.  Someone paid me a very nice compliment, saying "It has life even though it's bone!"  Yes, I read somewhere that can happen.

  1. I like that he's smiling. I feel I should be more sober when viewing a skull, but I can't help grinning back. :-)

  2. Very good looking painting and color study, I hope it gets the accolades and the buyer it deserves. Also, Lord Knows dry bones can have some life to them.

  3. lovely! I've had an ezekiel/dry bones series in my head and sketchbooks for about a year and it hasn't yet come to fruition. This is inspiration and once Salem painting #2 is done, maybe that will be next!

  4. Jodi, I'm no understander of art and it took me a moment to connect your blog post title with the art piece. Well, doesn't God's viewpoint just color all we do when we are looking? yes.

(And Yorick--from Shakespeare, yes? I hope.)

  6. I also like that he's smiling. He'd be pretty scary if he weren't. ;)

  7. How exciting to be exhibiting!!! I really like the smile. Almost believe that Yorick could have chatted back. That would have made a good twist to the tale.
