I'm getting into the habit of keeping my camera with me at all times. I'm no photographer in the professional sense, but I do have eyes which I'm thankful for, and God-given imagination which I'm grateful for. And there are moments when my little eyes will spy something extraordinary in the ordinary: beauty--a piece of art that may only last for seconds. I'm delighted to have captured it, to see my Creator in it. It makes each ordinary day splendid-y.
"My eyes are small but they have seen
The beauty of enormous things
Which leads me to believe..."
Everything Glorious by David Crowder
it IS art. I'm so glad you captured it, your photos testify girl, they TESTIFY!
ReplyDeleteI like the way you see. Not a photographer? Pish.
ReplyDeleteMy lovely Ostrich, you couldn't have encouraged me more :)
ReplyDeletelove your pics and your quote - and your eyes. they're good eyes.
ReplyDeleteNancy, <3 Thank you. Amateur - from the Latin amo, amas, amat...to love. Hence to do something for the love of it. I'm an amateur with the camera in the true sense of the word.
ReplyDeleteVicki, oxo
ReplyDeleteLove your pictures...I'm grateful for eyes, too. These are really gorgeous...like JoAnn said, they testify!
ReplyDeleteIt's all such wonder isn't it?
ReplyDeleteI have one of those $ Nikon SRL camera life changer things. Which I've yet to take off auto mode.
Thanks, Kit. Say hi to Lucy for me. She cracks me up.
ReplyDeleteDeb, haha! I have no idea what that means...I know I have a digital camera, and I try to remember to charge the battery. :P By the way, you're a pro in my book.
ReplyDeleteI love the details that caught your eye. Who says that you are not a photograher? You saw, you had the camera and you captured the image. I reckon that makes you a photographer.
ReplyDeletethe third photo looks like a window into narnia. and the fifth one, is it one of your paintings? so beautiful. love the swirly light in the last one, too :)
ReplyDeleteJodi! I love these. Especially the frost. I have a *thing* for frost:).
ReplyDeleteYour pictures inspire me...
Cheryl, aww, thanks! That means a lot coming from you. I've always admired your photography.
ReplyDeleteLeslie, the fifth one does look like a painting. An abstract landscape, I think. The swirly light is cool, too. I couldn't figure out the source of it.
ReplyDeleteAlexis, I like frost, too. The first time I saw frost on a window, I was a teenager. I had no idea what it was. It looked like frozen ferns on glass.
ReplyDeleteImagination to catch art through a lens...I'd call that a gift from above.....
ReplyDeleteLove all your "art" you shared in this post.....unique and individual just like God made us....
Very splendid-y, dear Jodi! Love the way your artist eyes see :)
ReplyDeleteI love the view from your eyes! What wonderful things you get to see!

ReplyDeleteNot a photographer... I disagree. I think you hit that outta the park. I loved them all.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful photos! I never have my camera with me when I should, and on the rare occasions when I do, I forget to use it. I love what you see, Jodi!
ReplyDeleteIt's surely-so, such a gift; the way of the seeing, the way of the saying, the fine, free and friendly way-of-the-generous-share of it all. I too, delighted in the "drinking in" of the much here-given, every picture, every word, and the wonderFULLness of that little eye of the happy heart, that took time to take notice, and make-merry the mention of, such things in this life, so-lovely, all around.
ReplyDeleteEvery photo shared is simply (yes) ART-FULLy-gorgeous (and oh, the *aqua*esse--in color and form--splendidity of the fourth!), but (no, it's) that first one, truly and without a doubt, most beautiful by far! xo
Gorgeous and the last one (that I at first overlooked) now fascinates me :0)
ReplyDeletei didn't know that origin/definition of amateur. wow.
ReplyDeleteyour photos are lovely, and more so your eyes in choosing to see. or simply being gifted to see, yes?
Hi Jodi! Thanks for stopping by my place today. I'm so happy to meet you too. This post is awesome. I feel the same! Thanks for letting me see the beauty through your eyes. You have great eyes. :)

ReplyDeleteI really love that window. The turquoise color behind it is so beautiful, so intense... I agree with Mom, it looks like a window into Narnia! You are an artist with your photos.
