In remembrance of those who paid the ultimate price in service of our country. We remember their valor and honor them this day. Because of the sacrifices they made, we and our children can continue to count our blessings.
Counting blessings
165 - family history - the clipping featured my great-grandfather who was one of the oldest surviving Civil War veterans in Pennsylvania. The article states that "at 95, he was able to relate with remarkable detail the incidents of Antietam and Gettysburg, where many of his comrades fell".
166 - my favorite colonial work jacket...just putting it on makes me happy
167&168 - double dating
169 - window box surprise
170 - pocket planters

What cute photos! You guys look so cute with the ice cream.
That is quite a lovely work jacket. I'd be afraid to work in it for fear of spoiling it.
Isn't family history interesting? I think it takes us a few decades to realize how fascinating it can be...speaking for myself anyway.
So glad you're holding onto your family history--especially military history. It means so much to those who served.
Joining you in gratitude for dates...double or single...it's always great to spend time with the one that we love!

Delightful to meet you and share in your thankfulness today. Simply beautiful, simply today.
Hope you don't mind if I splash around a bit to get to know you.
New to the gratitude community,

The jacket is lovely, I can see why it makes you happy.
Your clipping makes us remember that 'History' was real people and the things that happened to them.
Thank you, everyone, for commenting on my jacket. I really do love it, and I work very hard not to get it dirty at the farm, which is not easy to do, believe me...
Also, thanks for the comments about the article of my great-grandfather's interview. He was quite an interesting character, and maybe I'll share more about him on Veteran's Day. :)
A very interesting article about your great grandfather, and a valuable pc. of History to have in your possession......;o)
