holy experience

Joining Ann today

Counting blessings

"These I have loved:
White plates and cups, clean-gleaming,
Ringed with blue lines; and feathery, faery dust;
Wet roofs, beneath the lamplight; the strong crust
Of friendly bread; and many-tasting food;
Rainbows; and the blue bitter smoke of wood."

Rupert Brooke

I always enjoy the quotes, poems, words of wit and wisdom at the beginning of your lists! 232 and 237 look delicious! Here's to Home, Hearth and Hospitality, may your week be blessed as well, thanks Jodi!

Beautiful, beautiful. Making me smile in the midst of a difficult day.

Loving that poem. Loving. And Andrew Wyeth. And paisley. And crimson dahlias in blue and white china. And lanterns (I have two EXACTLY like yours sitting atop my oak armoir.)

And I am comforted and uplifted in the knowledge that you are praying for me. And thankful.

"Content" is an underrated word. Love your photos and hope they do bring you true contentment. Love the dahlias. Sigh.

I loved seeing the river photo, light on the water, as well as the paua shell.

Lovely post and photos! I have the same blue pitcher you do, and an abalone shell. I miss the smell of leaves burning in the fall. This was always a part of my childhood, but it's better for global warming not to do this, I think.

I love that poem, too. Those are all things I could love as well (and do: blue and white china? Oh, my!)

Jodi, what a beautiful home you must make. Such beauty in such simple things. Thank you for noticing and reminding me to look.

Kim, thank you very much. Most everything in our home has been thrift shopped, flea marketed, or dare I say, trash picked. Not ashamed, heehee. It's fun. Beauty from the discarded.

Oh beautiful list, as always. I LOVE that Wyeth painting. Love it. On our vacation to Maine this summer we got to go to a whole museum dedicated to the Wyeths...I think you would have loved it.
