Olde St. Nick

Hello, dear friends. I've been a bit under the weather, so here's a little something from this time last year. Hope it makes you smile--after all, who can resist shoes full of candy? Can't wait to be back reading and commenting on all your lovely blogs.

Who's that knocking at the door?

Welcome, dear St. Nicholas...

We've been good children all year!

The Feast of Saint Nicholas is a lovely tradition! I was just reading about it this morning in my book of readings for Advent. Hope you feel better real soon. Blessings to you!

The dutch girls at school (boarding school) used to have shoe boxes of St Nicholas goodies sent over. Needless to say, we all looked forward to 6th Dec, whatever nationality we were!

With all the thoughts of past goodies, I forgot to say that I hope you are feeling better!

Hope you are feeling better! I am under the weather, too (longest-lasting cold ever).

So does this come from Holland to your part of the world?
Here, "Mikuláš" goes on the evening of December 5. Accompanied by angels and devils.

Hana, I'm not sure. We did this at my workplace. Traditionally in this area we would have the PA German Belsnickel.
