Bless me!

"It ain't no use to grumble and complain;
It's jest as cheap and easy to rejoice:
When God sorts out the weather and sends rain,
W'y, rain's my choice."

James Whitcomb Riley

love this quote :)

i have a little picture of a little girl, holding an umbrella, in her wellies, splashing in a mud puddle, with the caption - - 'if you're gonna pray for rain, don't complain about a little mud' :)

enjoying your blessings this day - thank you for your counting and the sharing :]

my daughter's desk often resembles yours when she is creating... i'll have to show her yours so she can remind me she's not the only one when i'm lamenting over her creative "mess..."

is that burled walnut on the dresser in the last photo?

these photos bring delight to my heart : )

I like that: "It's jest as cheap and easy to rejoice"

What a lovely giveaway you've won! You'll have to post your finished product. I've been looking for a print of a fairy or two for my daughter's room. Maybe the Lavender fairy or the Blackthorn...

What a lovely creative setting. I can imagine you sitting there, totally lost in the process. Love the quote.

Rain is an omen of blessings in the drier parts of Africa. Children growing up in the Mojave believe rain to be the most fun of the possible weather patterns too.

Leslie, I got the dresser when I was a teenager. It was covered with white paint. I spent a whole summer stripping it down. I've always wondered what type of wood it was, and its age.

My mom has a burled walnut grand piano that she bought for $150 when we were young. It was being kept in an outdoor shed and the finish had turned to alligator skin. My grandmother stripped it and refinished it with linseed oil or some such concoction. It still plays and sounds beautiful, and the wood is GORGEOUS! It looks a lot like your dresser.
