From the rising of the sun

"I still find each day too short for all the
thoughts I want to think, all the walks I want
to take, all the books I want to read, and all
the friends I want to see."

John Borroughs

Is that a used bookstore? A good used bookstore is like the mother ship calling me home--one of my favorite places to ramble. (Though that fern filled forest looks pretty inviting as well--very fairy tale-esque).

The tea party looks wonderful. So glad you do not feel the need to clean up the sun puddles. I could also definitely get lost for a enjoyable long time in that bookstore.

A great quote. And great pictures. The sun puddle, the book aisle, forest, the tea--I'd like to hop into your pictures. Would definitely join you for tea:)

I would love to come for tea, walk the ferny forest paths, browse through the bookstore, and later sit together watching sun puddles form as we share thoughts, leadings and friendship...

I live the beginning quote myself!

Blessings!

Wonderful joys for which to be grateful! For me (as I'm sure you know) the last two especially!

Nancy (and anyone else who wants to know), yes, used books. There is a huge--and I mean HUGE--historic (circa 1822) barn. Baldwin's Book Barn, not far from us. It's full of nooks and crannies and steps and narrow passages. Three floors of books. We haunt it regularly. If any of you visit me, I'll take you there. Then we'll come back home, have tea, and discuss our purchases. By the way, the book barn describes itself as "intentionally chaotic." My kind of place.

A book and some tea in a sunny hollow in the woods, sounds like Alice lost in Wonderland.

How wonderful... all these gifts. The palm is beautiful! And all those books, I could get lost in those wonderful books! The tea looks lovely! :)

I was getting ready for school this morning when I heard Mom shriek from the next room - "DID YOU SEE JODI'S TEA PICTURE?" (And then we decided that we just have to have an Easter tea. All because of that absolutely perfect photo... Are those crumpets?)

P.S. Now I have to come visit you :)

Hey Emily, they're scones. I get my recipes from a great cookbook called, "Alice's Tea Cup." Also, I hope you and your mama come visit. We're gonna have to get Joy in on this to discuss film, as well as books.

Niamh, curiouser and curiouser!

I would like to BE in every single one of your photos today - what inviting places! :) This is a great list - thanks for sharing, and also for the kind comment on my blog earlier - I really appreciate your prayers for my Mamaw. God bless...

Beautiful photos! I would LOVE to get lost with all those books too! :)

I have some free Easter / "He Is Risen" blog buttons if you would like one to display on your blog! They are on my blog and free to anyone who would like one. :-)

Celebrating His resurrection,
Melanie

um, you know i'm coming to tea. although jodi, i do think we have had way too many virtual tea parties, and just have to have a real one.
i'm dreaming of that book store.

Anytime, Amy.

you live in a magical magical place. I guess I do too, but mine is different. More messy, more running around and jumping on things...more plastic cups. Wouldn't it be fun if the two collided? It would be a preschool tea party! I'll bring the goldfish crackers and the rubber spider!
p.s. as always, LOVE it all.

ohh, jodi... i could not wait to finish up my day and visit your place (wistful gaze at your tea spread)... and where do you LIVE?? your woods look NOTHING like mine!!

Jodi said...

Bethany Ann, thank you! The woods are in New Zealand. I took the photo while on a walk with my daughter and son-in-law. They live there.

I have been meaning to tell you for quite awhile now just how inviting that tea table is (I have been thinking about it since you posted!). So lovely, looks like a photo shoot for a book. Got me thinking that I don't have enough tea parties!

Thank you Jennifer!!
