Counting blessings

The Tree, Karle Wilson Baker

My life is a tree,
Yoke-fellow of the earth;
Pledged,
By roots too deep for remembrance,
To stand hard against the storm,
To fill my place.
(But high in the branches of my green tree,
there is a wild bird singing:
Wind-free are the wings of my bird:
she hath built no mortal nest.)

444 - poetry

445 - tree shadows

446 - orange and blue

447 - this time of year

448 - moss on a roof

449 - beautiful handwritten letters from a favorite poet

Hello, Jodi! Love the poem and the moss on the roof, too. And the shadows. At certain times of the day, shadows on my family room wall looks like light reflected off water. I always have to sit and watch until the sun moves beyond the trees :)

Thanks for your word hugs, Jodi (I borrowed that phrase from Jennifer at JRU :)! Tell me, did you scan your art and have it printed or print it yourself? I have considered prints but the home set-up is way beyond my budget for now. Any advice is truly appreciated!

I took my original pieces, which were small, to the printer. They have high tech scanners that stay true to the original colors as much as possible. I photographed large paintings, and the printer worked with the photograph. All in all, I was happy with the results, and was able to sell a lot of my work that way. The price depends on the volume printed. The more you print, the less the price. I hope this helps.

That poem just seems like you! Trees are wonderful in so many ways. And yes, this time of year is wonderful (like trees:).

My heart is like a singing bird, looking at all these pictures.......I've always loved trees and moss and made a blue and rust quilt for one of my daughters. Poetry, Autumn and shadows - oh, my.

Wonderful things all! I love that poem! I notice we have similar wedding rings (if that is your left hand as it appears to be...) a gold band and a little band of diamonds. About Autumn....I'm ecstatic (really!) that it is arriving. Even here in SoCal there will soon be a crispness to the air and blazing color on some of the trees...Autumn always makes me feel so wonderful.

That's a beautiful poem! One of those that make me read it slowly and appreciate every word without stumbling over every word. :-) The best kind!

Is that the mossy roof on the cabin at Newlin Grist Mill? It looks like it, anyway! Beautiful.
thank you for always reminding me to count my blessings - sometimes all i see are the shadows!
