Amy, ditto.

what joy here, Jodi! Well, a little bit of good old fashioned envy--I want a rain barrel. I imagine you'd be happy to spark another to get one. All so lovely and bright. Glad your feet were protected!

Amy, yes glad to spark. A local Amish family make them out of recycled wine barrels. The wood barrels are lined with plastic barrels, and the faucet makes it so easy to use.

I must say Jodi...
" These are a few of my favorite things " The colors in 497 are simply gorgeous! So grateful for sturdy colonial shoes, they certainly knew clothing served a purpose didn't they! The painting is amazing as well as the colors...and I agree, a daughter is truly a masterpiece!
Take care Friend...

Thank you, Kim. Take care yourself! :)

She is a masterpiece! (Your painting's not too shabby either)

My toes hurt thinking about the hot wax spilling onto your feet. And I'm seriously coveting your lilacs--out of four lilac bushes, I got only one pathetic bloom. Last year I got loads. Wonder what happened?

Never heard of curling one's hair that way, but mine is ridiculously curly all on its own so I may just be out of the loop there.

In a time, long, long ago, when I had masses of time, a friend and I used to put rags in each other's hair. About 20 each for maximum effect! I remember gently pulling out stray threads that inevitably got left behind, the next morning, after the rags were removed. I have a photo or two somewhere,.....and they are well hidden!

I too am ouching at the idea of you spilling hot wax.

Court, naturally curly hair, eh? Lucky duck. :) Rag curls have been around for a long, long time. LONG time.

Jodi said...

Cheryl, yep, we pulled out the stray threads, too, and left the rags in overnight. Apparently they're comfortable to sleep in.

Love your blog. Beautiful in every way.

Elizabeth, Hi--nice to meet you. I tried to visit your blog and leave a comment, but the site was acting dodgey. Will try again in a bit.

Nancy, the lilacs are beautiful, aren't they? Sadly, they aren't from my bush. The lilac bush on our property didn't bloom either. What gives?

I love the last photo of Bron, she is a wonderful masterpiece, and such a beautiful soul. I've never met a person so wanting to love and accept, or so quick to defend the more meek of us. She is whimsical, but scientifically inclined; she has a thinking mind, and an artistic heart; she is imaginative, but firmly grounded in her faith; she is ever thinking, and ever feeling; she is sensitive to the feelings of others, yet compassionate too (these two traits are not usually found in the same person); she can be quiet, but also quite ready to be excited; she enters the contest not to win, but to inspire; she is a creator of music, and always has an eye out for beauty; she has fashion sense, but maintains her own style; she is an untiring encourager, who loves to sleep in; she is an expressive and talented writer, who is interesting when not writing too (and she should do a guest blog post sometime); she is quite a masterpiece, and still being created!

Jodi, those are such wonderful things to be thankful for. Your daughter is lovely, and you painting--amazing!

Niamh, here here! I love and appreciate all my girls, daughters and daughters-in-law. Each one of them is a gift. Mike and I are blessed.

Connie, thank you! You are an artist of considerable talent, so your comment means a lot to me. I was attempting to paint an angel in the style of Raphael.

Your colorful posts always cheer me up. This makes me think of the sponge curlers that my mom put in my hair when I was little, they were very uncomfortable this rag curl idea looks like such a better one!

Jodi said...

Rachel, hey! How are you? Bron thought the rag curls were comfortable, for the most part.
