Tally on

holy experience

Counting blessings

Take joy home,
And make a place in thy great heart for her,
And give her time to grow, and cherish her,
Then will she come, and oft will sing to thee...
It is a comely fashion to be glad;
Joy is the grace we say to God.

Jean Ingelow

Beautiful. Always always beautiful.
I feel like slowing down and looking for barn swallows right now, but when it's hot tomorrow, maybe I'll just open my fridge and stare at eggs. Your blog is full of brilliant ideas....
Sweet and lovely post!

#191 makes me want to stand inside my refrigerator. #197 makes me want to be in that place. Just read your comment on emily's blog. Been there. Done that. God is good.

I love the words, and all these pictures! I think Granny will have a fun time keeping the Little Miss out of her pantry and bottom-door-freezer come next visit. Keeping cool quickly turns into an exploration for "nums" of the readily-grabbable sort.

Niamh, granny can't wait. I miss her so much; grandpy does, too. Her birthday gift is in the mail. Hope she loves it! Pictures, please.

This inspired me to dust off a blue mason jar and cut some more Queen Anne's Lace from the side of our road. What a lovely bouquet that would make.

I love the sequence of pictures, the colors (convovulvus has no equal) and the subjects.
How you chose to see (a few of them) after so little sleep on a deflated mattress ;) proves you live the meaning of the poem well!

What a beautiful poem. I like the idea of "making a place" for joy in our hearts. And love your photograph of "daybreak" - the light pouring through the trees looks joyous, doesn't it?

Jodi said...

Emily, it does indeed.
