Spitting image

Cray-pas on pastel paper
The day I came up out of the water,
The veil fell away,
My face a brightly mirror washed.
So remind me now how attitudes are important,
They can be seen.
Do they reflect what I value?
I want to look like You.

These are so beautiful, the drawing and the poem. I have to think about what they mean, but meanwhile, I'll just enjoy looking and listening. Thank you.

AHH! I love it!

I'm awful with faces, but yours is beautiful...the one you wear and the one you create. Love you!

Good stuff. Love seeing your work. And, though I've never seen your face, you do reflect Him. Blessings, you old building and loan pal of mine.

JoAnn, faces got easier when I saw them as light and shadow rather than line. xo

Brian, thank you - yes, the picture is mine.

Nancy - to the richest girl in town. Thanks Clarence :)

seeing faces as light... that's what it's ultimately all about, isn't it? that we reflect his light, or even seek to see it in others. i love the idea of our faces being a brightly washed mirror. love that.

The Painting is quite Lovely

I love the painting. Soft like the poem...but revealing so much as you pull back the layers.

Gorgeous portrait and true words -- very nicely done on both accounts.

And I just wanted to say thanks, too, for your lovely comment on my guest post over at Emily's place.

Your art always touches me deeply, rich and colorful and full of loving feelings toward art and life itself.

Your poem was tender and touching as well both went so well together.

Cheers,
joanny

thanks for the lovely comment-- it was a fantasy poem sent to Avant-garde photography and a the last was the theme set by willows photo prompt.
