Full to the brim

"I should like now to promenade around your gardens--
apple-tasting -- pear-tasting -- plum-judging --
apricot-nibbling -- peach-scrunching -- nectarine-sucking,
and melon-carving. I have also a great feeling for
antiquated cherries full of sugar-cracks --
and a white currant-tree kept for company."
John Keats

Beauty in the natural world,,,, love Keats, perfect for the canning and harvest. Adore the acorn and illustration. What is it about the acorn that is so simple and yet it is so beautiful to look at and hold? No matter any many times in my life time I see one I want to pick it up and hold them -- then I leave them for the squirrels out on the tray in the winter.

Have a lovely week,
joanny

I just love coming here. From Keats to Smashing Pumpkin(s). Silly...

Acorns always make me want to make acorn dolls. Did you ever do that with your girls? We had a pattern from somewhere - little wire bodies and painted acorn faces and felt outfits. They were fairies and elves and completely enchanting...

Nancy - glad you got it

Leslie, I'm a walking contradiction :)
An acorn doll? I'm swooning. Never saw one.

You really do spot the most beautiful and intriguing images. I love the images of acorns, wooden platters and quince jam. I can't help playing in my head with the line "a white currant tree kept for company". I feel a doodle coming on!

Oh! And completely unrelated to this post, but I was at Stuff-Mart today and employees were stocking shelves with Christmas decorations, and they were being arranged BY COLOR! And I thought, "Clearly, the head honchos at Stuff-Mart are loyal followers of Jodi's blog and are following her arranging-books-by-color example."

Can there be any other opinion on the subject?

Jodi said...

Either that or I have to start wearing a tinfoil cap on my head so they'll stop reading my thoughts. Vaminos, Stuff-Mart!

I wonder a lot of things about you, my acorn-loving friend, but it never occurred to me to wonder about your denomination. You are my sister in Christ; that's good enough for me.

I will too get you into trouble.

I think I'm going to wear a tinfoil cap while writing my next blog post. Vaminos? It's like you're speaking a whole other language...

Such a lovely time of year. This whole week is supposed to be sunny here in ne Ohio and I think I HAVE to get out and soak it up before November weather sets in!

Love your photos....I collect small things that have squirrels and acorns in them. I think I have to put them up on the hutch cupboard with my grandmother's turkey dishes and get with the season!

Yes, Jodi...it took me a couple of days. I was busy drinking water with amoebas in it. When we are sitting next to each other in eternity, can we recite the entire movie by heart?

Did you get my quote?

"Can there be any other opinion on the subject?"

Jodi said...

"Yes, there can; for mine is totally different. Will you hear it?"

Acorns . . I love acorns! Thanks for visiting. I've been feeling fine. Life is just crazy with getting ready to move (next weekend). Hopefully, I'll get back here more when things settle. I've missed your posts. :)

Love the fair daydreamer...
Keat's oozy woozy words, homemade cards, Redware, Pewter, yellow pumpkin, bumpy bread, all your handmade feast and jam...whispers of
"Arise, Take, and Eat."
Think I shall!
