Be still and count

"Possibly, I thought, as I set the miniature bouquet on the old trestle table, possibly God knows that if spring came all at once, we should die of it. So, the fairy-size bells ring a chime to make it possible to bear the beauty that will come in May."

Gladys Taber, Stillmeadow Sampler

I love the names "Tasha" and "Pepper Ann"!

(and I hate to admit it, but I'm jealous of your apple tree blooms...)

this rarely happens to me lately but the quote made me tear up. It sums up exactly how I've been feeling.
I've been so irritated with myself for not having any words, but my words don't seem to be ENOUGH for the whole thing, and God is overwhelming me, and so is Spring. I'm overwhelmed and so so grateful for fairy sized bells.

I love your list.

I love the chicks.

I desperately want a vegetable garden.
The end.

Les, I was shocked because it was the first time our little apple tree had bloomed.

Love the signs of Spring. I'm still guessing what's in the pan. Nothing mundane I'm sure.

Cheryl, I was teaching myself how to brown butter without burning it to make brown butter scones! yum.

Okay your quote is making me feel a little better about spring taking its sweet time getting here. A little.

Sometimes it seems like spring unfolds too quickly here in the South. I enjoy every minute of it.

I'll take a slice of bread, please?
