If only

Ah, if only this had been my ambition when I was young. Who knows where it could have led? I coulda been somebody. I coulda been a contender. But better late than never, I always say.

We in the acorn household love apple pie with brown sugar crumb topping. And my most favorite recipe came from here. Thank you again, Melissa.

I've never been good at pie. That pie you made was delicious! I have everything for shortbread today except an orange peel and citron, I am not really sure what citron is but I am going to go to the store and look for some. I'm sorry I didn't get your call, I lost my phone and found it at midnight.

Okay, I have visions of Marlon Brando rolling out pie crust in your kitchen.

Could there be any greater felicity than pie, warm from the oven?

I'm going to have a go at this recipe. I like the idea of a crumb topping. I'm still aspiring to be the perfect pie maker. I thought everyone was!

Every young girl's ambition was to make the perfect pie! When was this?

My youthful 1980's version would be Every Young Girl's Ambition is to be a Rock Star. Flash forward to today and I would MUCH rather make a perfect pie than tour with Sting. Funny how some things remain and others fall away.

I'm loving your blog! The symbolism of acorns and oaks, the Hobbit refernences, and still thinking about your Carradine mention. Good read!
